High school football: Eagles have promising Week 5 matchup

Southern Door is seeking its first win of the high school football season Friday night, when it hosts Valders in an Olympian/Packerland Conference game.

Both teams are 0-4 overall and 0-2 in conference, but Southern Door has shown a little more promise through the first four weeks of the season.

"I told the team (Monday) to approach it just like every game and take it serious," said Eagles coach Dan McCarty. "Their coach is probably telling them the same thing: That we're 0-4 and this is a winnable game. I don't want our kids to show up Friday night not ready to play.
