Modern poetry is a fascinating thing because it appears to be meandering and loose and free and all over the place, but the best of it has a structure and a logic all its own and discovering it is part of the adventure.

"The Lowdown" is a treasure trove of modern poems and visual art. It is also a poem in itself. And, for art historians, it is the last book into which Norbert Blei invested a part of his creative soul.
