10 YEARS AGO: Marshfield Clinic has announced the addition of Dr. Maria Mascola to its staff. Mascola is a North Andover, Mass., native.

More than 80 percent of crops have been lost in some areas of Taylor, Wood, Marathon and Clark counties as a dry spell continues across central Wisconsin. Soy yields are down to as low as 5 to 10 bushels an acre in some spots.

25 YEARS AGO: Evening Shadows bowling league action recently had Mark Fonferek at men's high game of 221, followed by Gary Stargardt with a 214. Leading the ladies was Jeanne Strey with a 195 game and Trudy Taves with 194.

50 YEARS AGO: Glen Zieher of Arpin will show slides from Japan and Korea to the patients at Wood County Hospital. Mr. Zieher is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Zieher of Arpin.

75 YEARS AGO: The bad Soo Line washout east of Owen was repaired Sunday. The Northwestern line between here and Wisconsin Rapids was repaired late Saturday following last week's disastrous floods.
