Colby library receives grant

9:47 AM, Sep. 18, 2013  |  Comments
Colby Public Library Director Vicky Calmes accepts a check for $1,000 from Russ Palmerton of Abbotsford in the children's section of the library. The check was from the Wal-Mart Foundation's Local Giving Program and will be used for annual summer reading program expenses. Palmerton is a driver for Wal-Mart out of the Menomonie Distribution Center. The Wal-Mart Foundation donates funds to organizations in the areas its employees reside. Calmes noted that the donation is greatly appreciated, as the summer reading program at the CPL keeps attracting more and more young readers each year.
