During the last half a year or so, I have had the honor of being a part this life-changing program through the Stevens Point Area YMCA called Youth In Government, or YIG for short. YIG is a program centered on giving today's youth a chance to voice their opinions and ideas on politics, government, and problems that are facing our communities, states and nations today.

YIG accomplishes this through its three program areas: Press Corps, Supreme Court and Legislative. Press Corp is a program in which participants take photographs, write articles and provides commentary around the other ...
