Department seeks third new ambulance

Specifications are under review for a third new ambulance for the Door County Emergency Services Department, while an older county ambulance overheated from a radiator leak in the process of transporting a patient to Green Bay, the department's director told his oversight committee this month.

Eric Christensen told the Emergency Services Committee last week the older ambulances "are showing their age."

The county took delivery of two new ambulances this summer. One is deployed at the county's north station in Sister Bay. The other is based at the central station in Sturgeon Bay. ...
