Toward Community fulfilling mission as it reaches 20th anniversary

While it's difficult to quantify a community's acceptance of diversity, a co-founder of Toward Community said making strides toward equality is, in fact, rocket science.

"Every time you think you have something figured out as far as race relations or human relations, there's an attack based on race or some comment made that totally upends a community," Scott Peeples said on the eve of Toward Community's 20th anniversary. "But I think society's more aware of the importance of accepting people."

Peeples helped found the organization in 1993, and members celebrated the 20-year anniversary ...
