You don't go to a Gary Allan concert to watch him grind his hips or ham it up with a Cheesehead.

You go for the songs.

Allan set 'em up and knocked 'em down like so many shots in "Drinkin' Dark Whiskey" on Thursday night at what was officially the Time Warner Cable Theatre at the Resch Center, but may as well have been a smoky honky tonk. The Bakersfield sound that has given his music an edge over his slick pop-country music brethren of the last 15 years was like an ever-present haze, settling into every dark corner in the room of 2,229 and filling up the arena well beyond its smaller theater ...
