Memorial for New London teens who died in car crash to be dedicated Sunday

Carol and Phil Johnson began fielding calls about 11:30 p.m. that icy night in late January. The callers all asked the same question: "Have you seen Levi and Yalanda?"

The New London couple had no idea where their son, Levi Johnson, 17, and his girlfriend, Yalanda Maggio, 17, of Weyauwega were, but expected them home sometime that night.

Soon came a knock on the door. On the other side stood the sheriff, accompanied by two area pastors. Levi and Yalanda were dead, they said, the result of a car crash with a school bus just after 10 p.m. on County W and Bean City Road near New London. ...
