City leaders: Job creation depends on more aid from state

A coalition of Wisconsin mayors and city managers want Gov. Scott Walker and the State Legislature to recognize cities as major economic drivers in the state and invest in them accordingly.

Racine Mayor John Dickert, president of the Urban Alliance of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, said the state should reverse long-term trends and increase state aid to cities in recognition of their role in economic development.
