Prep football: Quick start, tough finish for Wausau East

Tim Nass hauled in a 58-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the second quarter, giving Wausau East an answer in what was a wild back-and-forth opening 13 minutes of Friday's matchup with Appleton East.

East's offense stalled after that, however, gaining just 98 yards the rest of the way as the Patriots scored 21 straight points to pull away for a 35-10 win over in a Valley Football Association North Division matchup and the Lumberjacks' homecoming at Thom Field.

East's Cam Gruetzmacher couldn't quite haul in what would have been a 79-yard touchdown pass midway through the third quarter, ...
