There was quite a crowd at the funeral I attended last week. I looked around at those gathered, marveling at the wide range of ages of those who came to pay their respects..

George Alley, a World War II Bronze Star recipient, was 92 when he died this month. Although there is nothing tragic in the death of a 92-year-old, there were certainly a lot of heavy hearts. Saying goodbye, especially to such a great man, is not easy.

It was clear that George affected a lot of lives, and not just those of his contemporaries. People in their 20s, 30s, 40s were in attendance. ...
