Zero waste is a philosophy that mimics nature's life cycles so that all products are reused. It is an economically and environmentally ideal concept for dealing with what can be an expensive aspect for local communities: waste management.

I recently interned with Brown County's Waste Stream Committee, which is a group that would like to move toward this ideal. For the past 18 months, this group of local professionals and educators has met, with the goal to explore opportunities for economic development in Brown County and improve our local environmental sustainability.
