10 YEARS AGO: Land O'Lakes in Spencer commemorates its 40th year in the community this week. Land O'Lakes Inc. purchased its Spencer plant in 1963 and currently has 465 full-time employees.

25 YEARS AGO: Kristine Pinter, Route 1, Abbotsford, was recently named to the dean's list at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is majoring in elementary education.

50 YEARS AGO: Perry Nealis, a junior student at Columbus High School, has been invited to enter a science essay contest sponsored by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Nealis, 110 W. Harrison St.

75 YEARS AGO: Calvin Cook is the new principal of schools at Curtiss. Mr. Cook was introduced at the first meeting of the Curtiss parent/teacher association held at the schoolhouse.
