20th Annual Fall Harvest Festival

When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday

Where: Elk Lake Lionite Park, 126 Lake Ave., downtown Phillips

What to expect: The Fall Harvest Fest will feature a craft fair, live music and a farmers market with locally grown cranberries. Decorate a pumpkin at the Elk Lake/Lionite Park Pavilion and enjoy special craisin and cranberry menu items at participating restaurants.

The Impact of Brass

When: 7 p.m. Monday

Where: Chequamegon High School, 400 Ninth St. N., Park Falls

What to expect:The Impact of Brass features 160 custom arrangements by arranger Paul Chauvin of Disneyland in California. The concert will include American music starting with the Civil War period and the 21st Century. Musical styles performed at the event will include Dixieland, Ragtime, Blues and Big Band selections.

Highway: Highway 51

Location: Highway M to Highway W

Schedule: Sept. 23 to late October

Cost: $1.3 million

Description: Crews will mill about five miles of the existing roadway and repave it with new asphalt.

Traffic impacts: Highway 51 will remain open to traffic. Motorists can expect to encounter single-lane closures with flagging operations.
