Building permits total $4.2 million in August

Green Bay

Green Bay building permit activity was brisk in August, but with generally smaller projects than a year ago.

City records show that builders took out 242 permits for a combined $4.2 million planned construction projects.

That compares with the same month in 2012 when builders took 208 permits for a combined $5.4 million in construction.

The largest project permitted in August this year was a $950,000 remodeling of pharmacy and laboratory facilities at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center, 1726 Shawano Ave.

Last August, the largest project was a $1.1 million remodeling of kitchens and other interiors at Villa West Apartments, 1650 Ninth St.
