Clark County programs address childhood obesity, substance abuse

A recent poll of 300 Clark County residents showed overwhelming support for efforts by the local health department and school districts to reduce or prevent childhood obesity and youth tobacco use.

The poll was conducted by the public opinion research firm Public Opinion Strategies in August.

About 90 percent of those surveyed said health departments and schools should play a role in reducing and preventing childhood obesity, a serious issue in Wisconsin, according to 89 percent of respondents. ...
