Retired founders of the Oshkosh Edgewater Club recently honored David and Carol Cameron as one of the six 1958-59 original founding couples of the organization and now the longest active members. The presentation plaque stated that their support and enthusiasm for club events contributed greatly to Edgewater's success for the past 55 years.

Organized as a follow-up to the Oshkosh Newcomers Club, Edgewater offered social events to help "newcomers for 5 years" continue integrating into the community. It later included programs by student and other local performing groups. It continues today.

The five retired founding couples of Edgewater are Larry and Marianne Ellestad, Dick Fink and the late Betty Fink, Don and Anita Gerth, John and Joan Schatz and the late Mildred and Carl Warwick.
