Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol took a big first step Tuesday night in its quest to reclaim the Bay Conference high school girls swimming title.

The Clippers won the final race of the night and held on to beat Shawano/Bonduel, 89-80, in a dual meet at the Door County YMCA in Sturgeon Bay. The win serves as little revenge for the Clippers, who had a streak of five consecutive conference titles snapped last season by Shawano/Bonduel.

"This is going to be our biggest dual meet of the year and will factor into who wins the conference title," said Clippers coach Dave Bubnik. "We still have to go up against them ...
