The Ridges shows fall colors on land, water

The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor is offering two very different ways to experience Door County's fall colors and wildlife this weekend.

First, Ridges naturalist Karen Newbern leads a relaxing, 90-minute fall color hike through the sanctuary's Logan Creek Property starting at 1 p.m. Sept. 27. The Logan Creek area features a variety of habitats, with trails leading through upland deciduous forests, cedar swamps and several natural communities in between. The sugar maples and beeches should be putting on their fall colors, and a few wildflower species should be in bloom as well.
