Wade House will continue its commemoration of the Civil War sesquicentennial by staging one of the largest Civil War encampments and battle re-enactments in Wisconsin on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28-29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 23rd Annual Wade House Civil War Weekend will re-create the September 1863 Battle of Chickamauga, where Wisconsin soldiers fought in desperate conditions.

In a scene reminiscent of what took place 150 years ago, cavalry and artillery representing both sides of the conflict will fight at 11 a.m. each day, followed by a full-scale battle at 2 p.m. In between the ...
