Bridge sinking no further - for now

The sagging Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge seems to be staying put for the time being, but state highway officials are not yet ready to declare the damaged structure stable.

"So far, so good," state highway spokesman Kim Rudat said at a Thursday press briefing.

The bridge across the Fox River in Green Bay has been closed since early Wednesday after a 400-foot section sagged about two feet and created a pronounced dip in the concrete deck that carried 40,000 vehicles a day. ...
