Most people wouldn't expect to find numerous fine art galleries nestled in the rolling hills of eastern Portage and western Waupaca counties, hidden in wooded areas with breath-taking views of rivers right out the back window. But that's exactly what they discover when they take part in the Hidden Studios: Art Along the Ice Age Trail tour.

"I think it's the hidden aspect, the mystique that draws people in," said painter John Davenport, who creates his work at Rolling Oaks Studio in the town of Lanark.
