For the second time this year, the detectives at the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office have been recognized for their work in solving a burglary spree that crossed county lines.

The Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center presented the department with a MOCIC Outstanding Cooperation and Performance Award earlier this month for its work done on an investigation involving break-ins and thefts from RVs around the state.

More than 500 RVs were entered and damaged, and more than 130 flat-screen televisions, worth more than $65,000, were stolen. ...
