Soon after the Wausau West football team completed a shutout victory Friday against Kaukauna, coach Kevin Grundy waved for the students who joined the players on the field to take a knee around him as he spoke.

He pointed to the students and thanked them for the positive school spirit shown during the week leading to the 35-0 homecoming victory at Thom Field.

They'll need more of the same - and help in a few other areas - to overcome what the Warriors (4-2, 3-1 Valley Football Association North) will face next week: a home game against No. 2 large school state-ranked Kimberly, which remained ...
