Floyd's big day lifts Springs over Laconia

Both the St. Mary's Springs and Laconia football teams had this game marked on their calendar ever since the Ledgers' win over the Spartans at this exact time last year.

Like back then, the undefeated foes met again in week six Saturday to fight for a Flyway Conference championship. But once again, Springs didn't let the Spartans have their way as the Ledgers won their 33rd straight game by a score of 37-13 on Homecoming day at Fruth Field.

"We knew Laconia really wanted to beat us because we had a good game with them last year and they have really come out strong this year," Springs' Ike Floyd said. ...
