With Christmas right around the corner, the Kristmas Kringle Shoppe at 1330 S. Main Street in Fond du Lac invited artist and storyteller Pipka to meet you and offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have her personally autograph your purchase from the Shoppe of her special art piece. Pipka will be at the Kristmas Kringle Shoppe on Oct. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m.*

Pipka draws her inspiration from her Slovakian and German heritage. Her annual visits to family in Germany kept the old world traditions alive and inspired Pipka's artistic talent. She explored the Bavarian painting style known as Bauernmalerei, "Peasant Painting." Soon she opened her first workshop in Minneapolis, teaching Bauernmalerei classes and painting furniture for clients.

One snowy day, she created an old world Santa as a gift for her mother. Her study and research into the many cultural traditions of Father Christmas inspired more highly detailed and ornately costumed Santas. These charming spirits of Christmas have become uniquely Pipka's.

Since the line's introduction in 1995, collectors throughout the country and the world have en-thusiastically embraced Pipka's work. Today, Pipka spends her days traveling, designing, researching, and painting her wonderful, richly detailed Santas. She has also branched into custom painting furniture, and one-of-a-kind collage, painting and jewelry. Pipka shares "I have the best job in the world. I get to be creative, travel, bake, and meet the most wonderful people! It's a joy to wake up every morning to another day! "

*Call 922-3900 to reserve your own Pipka collectible today. All reserved Pipka purchases will be shipped free of charge to one address after the event. Register to win a Pipka Santa figurine on the day of the event.
