Individuals looking to earn their GED must complete all five parts of the test by the end of 2013, or risk having to redo the examination when the new version is im-plemented on January 1, 2014.

Moraine Park Technical College library services coordinator Hans Baierl, who coordinates the GED testing at the College, says the General Educational Development (GED) test is set to undergo major revisions at the end of 2013, making way for the new version in January 2014.

"This change is particularly important for those test takers who have started the GED test but have not completed all parts," said Baierl. "If they don't complete all of the tests before the end of this year, they will have to retake all of them again. We've really been working hard to get the word out there and hope that if people know someone who has started the process that they encourage them to contact us or stop by one of our three campuses to find out what they need to do to complete it."

"The GED opens doors to endless opportunities of lifelong learning," Baierl continued. "Moraine Park offers a number of resources that aid in the preparation of the examination. The goal is to equip students with the tools they need to succeed on the GED and their future careers."

Moraine Park is an official GED testing site and offers free services in a variety of formats to help students prepare for the test and earn their diploma.

Final dates to complete the current GED test at Moraine Park campuses include: Fond du Lac on Monday, Dec. 2; West Bend on Wednesday, Dec. 4; and Beaver Dam on Thursday, Dec. 5.
