Mr. Lemoncello, kids' board-game creator extraordinaire, has built the newest, most tech-savvy library ever. The town has not had a library in 12 years, so all 12-year-old kids have never been to a library. Mr. Lemoncello decides that these kids have really missed out and offers them to be the first-ever patrons at his library. In order to win a coveted spot at the lock-in, interested 12-year-olds must enter an essay contest.

In "Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library," Kyle loves Mr. Lemoncello's board games, so when he finds out about this essay contest, he really wants a spot. Despite his class clown status and last-minute essay efforts, Kyle earns a spot at the opening night lock-in.

The library lock-in night finally arrives and Kyle and 11 of his classmates enter through the grand doors. Inside, they find the helpful holograph of Mr. Lemoncello's childhood librarian and enjoy a night of library fun. When the kids wake up in the morning, however, they find that the doors are locked. In order to get out, the kids need to work through a set of puzzles and clues to escape from Mr. Lemoncello's library.

This book is great for young readers who love the library or mystery-packed adventures. The plot is attention-grabbing and encourages kids to read, learn and grow at the library. Chris Grabenstein celebrates the knowledge and magic all libraries have in "Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library."

Recommended for readers ages 8 and older.
