Smith leads Clippers in Plymouth Invite

Arica Smith won two events and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol placed fourth at the eight-team Plymouth Invitational high school girls swimming meet Saturday.

Smith swept the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races, with season-best times of 25.15 and 54.66 seconds, respectively. She dominated the 100, finishing nearly two seconds ahead of runner-up Rachel Slaby of Pulaski.

"Arica swam excellent," said Clippers coach Dave Bubnik. "I was very impressed with how she swam." ...
