Team of the Week

Christian/Lutheran,
Soccer

It's hard to argue with an unbeaten record. Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran's boys soccer team has emphasized teamwork this year, relying on a cadre of go-to scorers to empower the Eagles, who advanced to 16-0 overall with a 6-2 win Saturday against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy. The team was ranked second among Division 4 teams in the latest Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state rankings list.

Male Athlete of the Week

Drew Emperley,
Cedar Grove Football

The Rockets' quarterback came up big twice on Friday against Random Lake. With the score tied at 7-7, Emperley connected on a 5-yard TD pass to Josh Winkleff - who scored earlier in the game on a 44-yard carry. And with just 11 seconds left on the clock and the score tied again, this time at 14-14, Emperley connected on a 40-yard pass play with Logan Peterson to score the game winner. The QB finished with 153 yards.

Female Athlete of the Week

Emily Hammann,
Sheboygan Lutheran volleyball

The Sheboygan Lutheran senior struck into elite territory after knocking her milestone 1,000th - and, after that, her 1,001st - career kill in a 3-0 win over Kohler on Thursday. Her coaches said she was just the eighth player in the county's history to hit the 1,000-kill mark.
