A breakfast benefit will be held Sunday, Oct. 6 at the Fond du Lac American Legion Hall to raise money for the family of Rob Vande Zande Jr., who died in mid-September.
The benefit will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and will include raffles. Cost is $7 for ages 12 and up, $5 for ages 5 to 11, and $1 for under 5 yrs. All proceeds will go to the family.
The American Legion is located at 500 Fond du Lac Ave.
Two Gun Raffle Items: An AR Mega Arms Gator by Reaper; and a Mossberg 500 Watch Dog 12-gauge. Tickets are $10/each.
Silent Auction, with approximately 60 items will be held including: several gift baskets, KOA Campground certificate, MA-1 Flight Jacket, artwork, jewelry, a guitar amp, golfing items, Timber Rattler tickets, and so much more.
Rob Vande Zande was a Fond du Lac High School graduate and joined the U.S. Army right out of school. He drowned in a swimming accident in New Mexico. A soldier who attained the rank of specialist with the U.S. Army, he was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. He served a one-year deployment in South Korea. He was in the process of seeking promotion to sergeant.
Rob's wife Sarah is expecting the couple's first child in November.
