Mary Lou Vande Hey, the local chapter chair of SCORE, will lead the keynote presentation, "What is SCORE?" at the Oct. 9 Women in Management (WIM) luncheon meeting at the Holiday Inn from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The general public, members and businesswomen interested in becoming members are invited to attend.

Reservations are due by Friday, Oct. 4.

SCORE is a nonprofit association supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. In the presentation, Vande Hey will explain how SCORE helps entrepreneurs with specific business issues and newly formed businesses get off the ground and grow.

SCORE has been helping businesses achieve their goals through education and mentorship for nearly 50 years. The Fond du Lac SCORE Branch provides free business counseling and low-cost workshops within the Fond du Lac area. Assistance is available to anyone looking to start a business or current business owners who are searching for new ideas and support. SCORE counselors can help with developing business plans, marketing ideas, financial resources, and professional contacts.

To attend, reservations must be made by Friday, Oct. 4 by contacting Chris Rockweit at 921-1123 or by emailing her at chrisr@fdlcu.com. Cost to attend the luncheon meeting is $14 for members and $16 for non-members, payable at the door. The fee is non-refundable after making reservations.

Women in Management is a networking organization for businesswomen who are in management positions or who are business owners. Those interested in joining the chapter can contact membership chair Kim Schmitz at 904-6200.
