Alicia Birr, 30, remembers as a youngster using her crayons to fill in coloring books sitting in one of the vacant offices on the second floor of Schroeder's Department Store that used to be home to several physicians over the decades in the historic downtown building.

She would be waiting for her father, Frank Birr, to get off work in the Men's Department.

Now, some 20 years later, the Roncalli High School Class of 2001 graduate, plans to return to the Lakeshore area every few months to the satellite clinic she has created to practice natural medicine. ...
