In mid-October dozens of people converge on Menominee Park in Oshkosh to begin work on what is the area's largest outdoor holiday lights display. Volunteers of all ages and walks of life come together daily for several weeks of intense labor that involves the stringing of over a half-million twinkling lights, more than 30 lighted and animated displays, and dozens of painted wooden characters that will bring the Oshkosh Celebration of Lights to life on Nov. 25.

These hard work ing and selfless volunteers ask for nothing in return for their dedication - except for a warm meal during the workday. ...
