Pianist to perform solo concert

Dave Yerke will present a solo piano program at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mitchell Piano Works, 3201 Main St. The program will feature the works of J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin and Charles T. Griffes.

Yerke grew up in the Marshfield area where he studied with Joan Moffat and, after receiving his secondary education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW-Stevens Point, taught for the Wausau Conservatory, the American Suzuki Talent Education Center and privately. He currently resides in Portage and offers services as a piano tuner and technician in south central and central Wisconsin.

The program, which is sponsored by the Stevens Point Area Music Teachers Association, is free and open to the public.
