Prep football: Athens scores 8 TDs in first half against McDonnell Central

Athens scored eight touchdowns in the first half, rushed for 425 yards for the game and beat Chippewa Falls McDonnell Central 62-0 Thursday night.

Lane Tessmer rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, and Dalton Lavicka, who also ran six times, cleared 102 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Max Stange also ran for two touchdowns, and Shane Coker scored on a 25-yard pass play from Collin Ellenbecker.

Aaron Wickman returned an interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Athens improved to 6-1.
