Adams County Sheriff Sam Wollin, left, presents Deputy Josh Czys with his new K-9 patch.
The Adams County Sheriff's Department has selected a deputy to be the county's second K-9 handler, department officials recently announced.
Deputy Josh Czys will start his new duties in early November, when he will travel to Vohne Liche Kennels in Indiana to select and train with a dog for six weeks, according to an Adams County Sheriff's Department news release.
The additional K-9 team will allow the Sheriff's Department to have dogs working daily, according to the release.
Private donations from community members and businesses funded the new K-9 unit, according to the news release. Anyone who would like to contribute can drop off donations at the Sheriff's Department or send donations to: Adams County Sheriff's Office; P.O. Box 279; Friendship, WI 53934.
