A Green Bay woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for fatally stabbing her boyfriend in the apartment they shared.

Lois Velaszquez, 47, was charged in the May 2012 death of Derrick House, 35, who was stabbed in the chest at 338 S. Quincy St.

Police found Velaszquez performing first aid on House. But a teenage family member told investigators that Velaszquez had stabbed House during an argument.

Velaszquez later pleaded no contest.

Brown County Circuit Judge William Atkinson sentenced her Tuesday to 20 years in prison, plus another 10 years of extended supervision.
