The city of Stevens Point added a few new residents last month when the Rooney family came to town. But don't expect to see them shopping at the local supermarket, cheering on the local high school sports teams or enjoying an afternoon on the downtown square.

The Rooneys are a fictional family featured on the new Disney Channel series "Liv and Maddie," which premiered Sept. 15. The show is set in Stevens Point, and showcases a small-town feeling that executive producer Andy Fickman recalls from visiting Stevens Point when he was a child.
