Prep football: D.C. Everest beats Appleton East to move above .500 for first time this season

D.C. Everest broke open a tie game with a 28-point second-half explosion to foil Appleton East's homecoming with a 35-14 victory over the Patriots Friday night.

The score was deadlocked 7-7 at the half, but Everest quarterback Nick Sierakowski hit Brett Nievinski with a 2-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter and ran for an 18-yard score on the Evergreens' next possession to put Everest up 21-7 entering the fourth quarter.
