Everest overcomes turnovers to beat Wausau East

Whether it's a single game or an entire season in general, the D.C. Everest football team doesn't always do things the easy way.

Friday night's homecoming game against Wausau East was a perfect example, as the Evergreens had to overcome turnovers on their first three possessions and a seven-point first-quarter deficit to pull out a 36-7 victory over the Lumberjacks on Steffenhagen Field at Stiehm Stadium.

The victory was the second straight for the Evergreens, who improved to 2-2 in the Valley Football Association North and 3-3 overall. East fell to 1-3 in the VFA and 1-5 overall. ...
