Local residents will have the opportunity to take part in a Pilgrimage for Immigration Reform on Oct. 10. Individuals will leave from two different regions, journeying to Wausau, where they will come together at the office of Rep. Sean Duffy, 208 Grand Ave., Wausau.

This initiative is a response to encouragement by the Wisconsin Conference of Bishops, the United States Conference of Bishops Justice for Immigrants Campaign and the Leadership Conference of Women Religious to work for immigration reform.

One starting point will begin at 9 a.m. in Woodruff, travel to Merrill at 10 a.m. and then to Wausau at 11:30 a.m. The other starting point will begin at 8:15 a.m. in Ladysmith, go through Medford and arrive in Wausau by 11:30 a.m.

Pilgrims must register in advance to receive exact location information and materials to prepare for the pilgrimage and meeting with Rep. Duffy. To register for the Woodruff to Wausau route, contact Sister Pat Cormack, SSCSC, at 715-539-1461 or at pcormack@holycrosssisters.org. For the Ladysmith to Wausau route, contact Sister Cecilia Fandel, OSM, at 715-532-0141 or at ceciliafandel@gmail.com.

This event is jointly sponsored by the Servites of Ladysmith, the Social Justice Committee of Our Lady of Sorrows parish in Ladysmith and the Holy Cross Sisters in Merrill.
