For more than eight decades, visitors to the village of Port Edwards have passed the iconic brick building that has housed hundreds of Wood County residents.

Edgewater Haven Nursing Home, formerly known as the Wood County Home for the Aged and later the Wood County Infirmary, can trace its roots back to the late 1880s, when people began settling in the Wisconsin Rapids area.
