Prevea recycles clinic in Green Bay

The former Prevea Clinic at Holmgren Way and Pilgrim Way is history.

The building at 760 Pilgrim Way, Ashwaubenon, was razed a week ago. Prevea moved its clinic operations in 2012 to a new building at 2502 S. Ashland Ave., adjacent to Western Racquet & Fitness Club.

The razed structure will be 100 percent recycled, according to Prevea. Cabinets, light/electrical fixtures, bath fixtures, doors and windows were removed and are being used in low-income apartments in the Milwaukee area. Wood and asphalt shingles will be ground up and burned as fuel at Wisconsin Public Service Corp.'s Pulliam Plant.

Wiring, other metals and concrete will be recycled as well.

Prevea estimates 43,000 cubic yards of material will be diverted from landfills.

Orange Leaf closes

Ashwaubenon's Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, owned by Green Bay Packers players Jordy Nelson and Mason Crosby, closed on Sept. 22, according to an announcement on the store's Facebook page.

The self-serve yogurt shop opened in November 2012 at 2901 Ramada Way in Ashwaubenon.

Nelson and Crosby could not be reached for comment.

Orange Leaf, based in Oklahoma City, has more than 200 corporate-owned and franchise stores nationwide and in Australia.

Coaches Corner & Paddy O's

The Coaches Corner pub at Kolbs Corner, 4344 Lime Kiln Road, Green Bay, closed Sept. 23. Owner Kevin Harbick said ownership of the building changed.

Employees who wanted them were given jobs at other Coaches Corner locations in downtown Green Bay, De Pere or Suamico, he said.

Harbick said Paddy O's, 2920 Ramada Way, Ashwaubenon, which closed earlier this summer, was "just losing money. We had to close." He said a combination of location and competition in the area proved too much.

Harbick still is working with the city to find a new home for the Coaches Corner at 501 N. Adams Street, Green Bay, which remains open. The oldest of the Coaches Corners is in the way of a planned KI Convention Center expansion.

"We have a couple of cool ideas," he said.
