Over 150 people participated in what has come to be one of the most anticipated events for Auburndale Elementary School students and families?the Pumpkin Run! The fun run brings together families in the community to promote health and fitness as well as the cross-country program at the junior high and high school. Runners from the team lead participants in warm-up stretches and exercises before the races. Families could choose from a mile, mile, or 1-mile run. At the end of the run students were able to take a colorfully painted pumpkin home from the finish line. "This is a great way for the community to get an idea about what cross-country is. It's also wonderful to see so many parents and families running with their children," said head coach Joren Anderson. This was the eighth year the school has hosted this event.
