About Diana Mrozinski

The 66-year-old Stevens Point woman is retired from Sentry Insurance.

Family: Husband, Richard

Number of years as a survivor: 10

What I found: I found the most wonderful people through my cancer journey. I was still working when I was diagnosed and going through treatment. Even the men I worked with were exceedingly kind and thoughtful. Most days they treated me as they always did. They accepted the bald head and the hot flashes in stride. Other friends brought food and helped me with so much. If there is an upside to cancer, it is the love and kindness that flows from friends and family. My faith has increased as has my love of the world around me.

What I lost: When I really stop and think about my cancer journey, I really lost very little. The initial journey was tough. I had a few rough patches but once things settled down, I got into a very comfortable routine.

The one thing I wish I could do well, but can’t is ... sing. There is not a bushel basket big enough for me to carry a tune in.

My hero is ... my friend, Frank Young. He is truly, truly a good person day in and day out.

I cherish my relationship with ... my wonderful husband. He is my rock.

My greatest characteristic is ... being a good listener.

My favorite room in the house is ... our porch where I can sit and watch all the birds.
