Library offers lots of 'treats' in October

October is full of treats at the Portage County Public Library. For example, it's always a treat to hear an author speak. Buzz Humke will present a "booksing" of his new novel "The Logging Road Gang" at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Pinery Room of the Portage County Public Library, 1001 Main St. The "booksing" combines Humke's original songs with readings from his book. The novel features Junior Coffey, who has just moved with his family from Milwaukee to the small town of Chester, Wis. Junior faces school bullies and a host of other trials. With a diverse group of pals, he does just that! All are welcome ...
