A county committee recommended Monday the county hire a consultant to conduct a $50,000 design analysis that could lead to a $2 million renovation of the North Central Health Care center's therapeutic pool.

A dozen pool patrons showed up at the county's Finance and Property Committee meeting Monday to give testimonials of how the pool has cured their ailments in a way no other form of therapy could.

Sue Gebhardt, member of the Aquatic Services Task Force asked to look at future options for the pool, said she would not be standing today if not for the pool. ...
