The glow of molten iron and the brilliant trails in imaginative "light painting" photographs fuel two evening events for "Light Up the Night," Oct. 12 at the Peninsula School of Art.

From 4 to 8 p.m., the school hosts its fourth annual Iron Pour Benefit in support of its art education programs. At the same time, the international light painting exhibition "Night Lights" opens in the school's Guenzel Gallery. Both events celebrate the drama of light in the darkness with hands-on activities for the public.
